New police golf cart on duty in Geneva
The golf cart is a "go" in Geneva.
In a brief meeting of the Geneva Town Council on Tuesday, Marshall Rob Johnson reported that the golf cart recently purchased by the town to save money on the gas-guzzling police cars is now in operation, and deputies have been using it to patrol the town streets and alleyways for the past week. Johnson said that the cart, fully equipped with a siren, lights, radio and decals, has yet to pull anyone over, but that the night-shift deputies appreciate that they can "sneak down the alleys." He added that the cart has piqued a lot of interest and questions from the citizens of Geneva and that the department plans to have a First Responder kit on board the cart soon.
