    Neil W. Highland, 91, of Decatur, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
    Born on June 6, 1919, in Hinsdale, Illinois, he graduated from Decatur High School, where he met his beloved wife, Jeanette Winnes Highland. They were married for 54 years.
    He worked for the Nickel Plate Railroad as a station agent and telegraph operator for 40 years.
    Neil was an avid golfer, recording three holes-in-one at the Decatur golf course.
    He is survived by his son, Ron Highland (and Harriet Rice); three grandchildren,Doug Highland (and wife Tammy), Rhonda Huebner (and husband Joel), and Jennifer King (and husband Otis); and seven great-grandchildren.
    There will be no calling hours. A private family funeral service will be held.
    Memorials are to the Northeast Indiana Cancer Society and may be made through Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home in Decatur.
