A recent story in the Democrat outlining the selection process for candidates for the District 2 seat on the North Adams school board incorrectly listed the geographic boundaries for the district.
District 2 includes the eastern half of Root Township, east of County Road 000; all of Union Township, and a portion of Washington Township.
Resumes are currently being accepted for the District 2 seat on the North Adams school board, and prospective candidates must live in the area described above. The District 2 seat is currently held by Michelle Stimpson.
People wishing to apply for the District 2 school board seat may send their resumes to Dan Bieberich, 8220 N. Piqua Road, Decatur, IN 46733 before the March 31 deadline. Applicants will be interviewed at 7 p.m. on April 12 by township trustees from Union, Preble and Root townships.
The new appointment will be the last by township officials as the North Adams school board transitions from an appointed body to an elected one. A phased-in process to fill the new seven-member board will begin later this year during the November general election, but the new appointee will serve a full four-year term.
