The North Adams Community Schools’ board of education on Tuesday gave its approval for the publication of a 2015 operating budget that Business Manager Larry Carty said will “be very close” to the approximately $21 million budget approved by the state one year earlier.
Carty said next year’s spending blueprint for the school district is expected to be “within $100,000 to $200,000” of the 2014 budget. He said a public hearing on the budget will be conducted at the board’s Sept. 9 regular meeting. Following that hearing the spending document will be submitted to the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance for approval.
Carty said a copy of the budget will be sent to the Adams County Council “as a courtesy,” but told board members the council’s approval of the document is not required.
