NA and AC return to state tests – Expect to complete testing next week

May 3, 2013

Adams County school districts, as well as those across several states, are rescheduling and retaking tests that were interrupted Monday and Tuesday.
Thousands of students in Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota and Oklahoma have been kicked offline while taking tests in recent weeks, postponing the testing schools planned for months and raising concerns about whether the glitches will affect scores, The Associated Press reported.
Indiana had major disruptions on Monday and Tuesday, leading to fewer students taking the tests Wednesday and Thursday.
Both North Adams and Adams Central schools have resumed testing and will continue into next week.
North Adams Schools Superintendent Wiley Sirk said late Wednesday morning that the ISTEP+ testing has been restarted, He said state officials have given schools until May 15 to complete the testing, "but we anticipate we will be able to complete it in that time. We will (test) this week and into next week."
