Myrtle Esther Seffernick

    Myrtle Esther Seffernick, 91, Delphos, Ohio, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Vancrest Healthcare Center in Delphos.
    She was born in Delphos Jan. 30, 1923, to the late Elvin and Lena (Carder) Allemeier. On May 25, 1940, she was united in marriage to Alfred B. Seffernick; he preceded her in death in 1988.
    Myrtle retired from the Bending Company after 17 years. She was a housewife, mother of 10 and volunteered at the Thrift Shop. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
  Among survivors are three daughters, Susan (Wade) Griffis of Jennison, Mich.; Beckie (Steven) Vaniman of Kalkaska, Mich.; and Mary Ann (Anthony) Romaker of Bowling Green, Ohio; six sons, Lewis (Sue) Seffernick of Decatur; Joseph Seffernick of Geneva; Michael (Kathleen) Seffernick of Bucyrus, Ohio; Stephen Seffernick of Delphos; Dennis (Janice) Seffernick of Swanton, Ohio; and Thomas (Sharon) Seffernick of Rocky River, Ohio; one sister, Elizabeth Seffernick of Jackson, Mich.; and 24 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a son, Alfred Seffernick; two sisters, Audrey Belcher and Mary Lou Lehmkuhle; two brothers, Ralph Allemeier and Elvin Allemeier; two daughters-in-law, Betty Seffernick and Linda Seffernick; two grandchildren, Betsy and Tracey Seffernick; and one great-grandson, Robbie Seffernick.
    A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Monday, with Father Dave Reinhart officiating. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery.
    Memorial contributions may be made to The Alfred and Myrtle Seffernick Scholarship Fund and Vancrest activity fund.
    Arrangements were handled by Harter and Schier Funeral Home.
