Myers gains IHSWCA award

    BERNE—South Adams head wrestling coach Eric Myers has been selected as the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association (IHSWCA) Regional Coach of the Year it was recently announced.
    This is an award voted on by other wrestling coaches from across the area. Myers will receive a plaque at the IHSWCA state spring clinic on April 22 at Wabash College in Crawfordsville.
    Coach Myers has led the Starfires on the mat for the past six seasons and South Adams posted an undefeated regular season at 27-0 this past season. The Starfires also were the regular season and tournament champions in the Allen County Athletic Association (ACAC).
    In addition, South Adams won the Homestead Super Dual championship, the Spencer Haworth Invite title, the New Castle Super Duals with a 5-0 slate, the ECIC championship, and the title at the Tri-High Invitational. South Adams also was ranked state wide in the top 20 this year for the first time in school history in wrestling.
