Morning storm brings .39 rain
An early-morning storm today brought Decatur its biggest rainfall in weeks: .39 of an inch.
That certainly isn't a lot, but it's the most rain to fall here since .34 of an inch on July 19. The city has now received .96 of an inch of rain since June 24, according to city weather station records.
The storm, packing lots of lightning and thunder, moved into the city around 3:30 a.m.
The next chance of rain listed by the National Weather Service for this area is on Friday, 40 percent in the daytime and 30 percent at night.
Tuesday's high at the city weather station was 94 degrees.
Some slight cooling is seen for Decatur and Adams County in the days ahead, with the weather service predicting highs in the upper 80s through Sunday.
