In the most hotly-contested race of Tuesday’s primary election balloting, two-term Adams County Treasurer Rex Moore cleared the first step in his return to elected office with a narrow win over Monroe resident and fellow Republican George (Wes) Kuntzman in balloting for the District 2 seat on the board of county commissioners.
Moore captured 1,562 of the votes cast by Republican voters — or 54.1 percent — in Tuesday’s balloting. Kuntzman, who currently serves on the Adams Central School’s board of education and is the executive director of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce, polled 1,325 votes among GOP voters.
“I’m thrilled. I’m pleased to represent the taxpayers of Adams County,” Moore said following his victory. “I want to thank everyone for their support.”
