Adams County Prosecuting Attorney Christopher E. Harvey announced today that John E. McAlhaney, 25, of Monroe, has been arrested and charged with four counts of forgery, each a Class C Felony.
The arrest was a culmination of an investigation by the Adams County Sheriff’s Department, Harvey said.
According to the police investigation, McAlhaney stole checks, forged them and then cashed them at a local convenience store.  McAlhaney allegedly forged over 30 checks over a period of several months, taking over $75.00 from the victim.
