The Monroe Fire Department and community members on Sunday celebrated completion of the town’s new Monroe Fire Department and Town Hall building. The project was financed with a loan of $625,000 which has been incrementally been paid for by volunteer work and fundraisers. Chaplain Pastor Char Allen said a prayer over the building, firefighters and members of the community in the dedication ceremony that was held at 1 p.m. “Let us find joy and peace in the service of one another,” she prayed. Shown in photo above are members of the department praying for the protection of those who work in the new building.
