Mindâ€™s Eye lands slot in Senior final by clipping Geimer

Mind's Eye Graphics assured itself of a place in the championship game of the Decatur Girls Senior Softball League tourney as they rallied for a 6-4 win over Geimer Construction in the double-elimination event Tuesday night at Hanna-Nuttman Park.

Mind's Eye scored individual markers in the first and second while Geimer's had two in the first and took a 3-2 edge with one in the fourth. The Graphics took the lead for good with two in the fifth and added what proved to be the winning run in the sixth along with an insurance tally in the seventh.
Janaya Wilder singled twice while Nicole Schevenius and Autumn Konkle also stroked base hits for the winners while Taylor Kuhnle doubled, Adrienne Ashley and Kayla Douglas both singled for Geimer's. Schevenius went the distance on the mound for the win and struck out five. Sadie Alberson and Mackenzie Funk both pitched for Geimer Construction.
In the other Senior League game, Barker and Sons Wrecker Service eliminated the First Bank of Berne from further play with a 16-10 triumph in the loser's bracket. No other details were available on the game.
Information about Monday night's Mind's Eye Graphics' 18-7 win over the First Bank of Bank was released today. Mind's Eye jumped out to a 8-0 lead before the Bankers hit the board. Wilder and Schevenius struck out a combined eight batters and allowed just two hits. Jess Roeder and Erika Schaeden pitched for the Bank.
Konkle tripled and doubled in a three-hit game, Hope Adams tripled in a two-hit contest, Allie Feasel doubled among her three hits and Wilder and Schevenius both added two singles.
Play in the tournament continues tonight with Geimer Construction and Barker and Sons playing at 6:30 p.m. in the loser's bracket. The winner will take on Mind's Eye Graphics at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the championship tilt. If a second game is needed, it will go 30 minutes after the completion of game one Thursday evening.
In the win by Barker and Sons Wrecker Service over First Bank of Berne, 16-10, the teams combined for 15 strikeouts and 15 walks.
Casey Fee was the winning pitcher, with 10 strikeouts and six walks. She also tripled and singled.
Erika Shaden got the loss as she struck out five and walked nine.
For Barker's, Alexa Hammond, Courtney Loshe, Alyssa Miller, Cathy Slusher, and Emily Gunsett each had two singles. Loshe drove in two runs and other RBI came from Fee, Gunsett, Elizabeth Heck, Miller, and Slusher.
For the bank team, Jess Roeder and Jordyn Inskeep had two singles each and Roeder knocked in a run.
