Miller, Gillette highlight Rainbow 5k in Geneva

    GENEVA— Sawyer Miller, a senior at South Adams, took first place overall at the sixth annual Rainbow Lake 5k run on November 30.
    With a time of 17:00.8, Miller was a winner by over a minute as Nathan Rupp of Rockford finished second overall at 18:08.8.
    Melissa Gillette was the top female finisher with a time of 18:28, while Denise Conrad was second overall for the women at 20:27.
    Race Anderson was the top runner under 10 years old with a time of 23:22 followed by Owen Wanner at 24:12. For the 11-14 group, Wyatt Miller took first at 19:41 followed by Luke Gerber at 22:34.
    Finishing in the 15-19 group behind Miller was the tandem of Daniel Velasco at 18:24.1 and Evan Liechty at 18:24.3. In the 20-29 group, Aaron Lehman finished first at 18:46 with Lance Wood taking second at 19:30.
    Kit Minnich was the top racer at the 30-39 group finishing at 19:07 with Nick Seifer finishing second at 22:07. In the 40-49 age bracket, Rory Helms was first at 19:18 followed by John Schnieders at 19:26.
    Paul Shaffer's 19:42 was tops at the 50-59 group with a time of 19:42 followed by Roger Tullis at 23:00. In the 60 and over group for the men, Gary Tullis finished first at 25:15 followed by Barry Humble at 26:24.
