Mike Drake

    Mike Drake, 67, of Decatur, passed away at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2010 in Shipshewana.
    He was born on November 20, 1942, in Decatur to Charles E. and Doris (Williams) Drake. He married Linda G. Owens on April 29, 1967.
    He is survived by his wife, Linda G. Drake of Decatur; one daughter, Mrs. Shannon (Tom) Bleakney of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Mary Anne and Joseph Michael Bleakney of Fort Wayne; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Owens and Carolyn Baumbartner, both of Decatur.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rose Sharon Drake.
    Mike was a member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur, where he was a member of the Alpha & Omega Sunday School Class, of which he was the teacher for many years. He served on most of the boards at the church through his life. He was also active in Boy Scouts at the church and was an avid camper.
    He retired after 37 years of service with GE in Decatur and Fort Wayne. He also worked part time for True Value in Decatur.
    Visitation is 4-8 p.m. on Monday, November 22, at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Martha Lyons. Burial will take place in the Decatur Cemetery.
