Michael Jauregui, 92, of Ossian, passed away on Thursday June 14, 2012.
He was born on April 8, 1920, in Illinois, to the late Simon and Apalonia (Conde) Jauregui.
Michael retired from Kroger Warehouse as a supervisor in 1982. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and was also a member of American Legion No, 241. He served in the Army-Air Force during World War II, where he was a Golden Gloves boxer in the lightweight division at the St. Antonio Aviation Cadet Center. He enjoyed spending time golfing.
Among survivors are his wife of 69 years, Dorothy (Williams) Jauregui; daughters, Susan (Ronald) Graft of Uniondale; and Linda (Tim) Otis of Ossian; son-in-law, Tom Quackenbush of Lapel, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by a daughter, Connie Quackenbush; sister, Louisa Costello; and brothers, Russell and Simon Jauregui.
Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. on Monday, June 18, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder.
Burial will take place at the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
