Michael D. Lemmon, 48, of Fort Wayne, departed his earthly home Monday, April 15, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital following a brief illness.
Michael was a lifelong Fort Wayne resident, Northrop High School graduate, and IUPU graduate. He was a 19-year employee of Press-Seal Gasket Corporation of Fort Wayne. He was an extrusion operator. Michael loved video gaming, was a lover of Christ, and of Christian music. He was the most kind and loving man, husband and father.
He was the youngest son of the late James D. Lemmon. His mother, Ruth (Berkemeier) Lemmon, of Missouri City, Texas, survives.
Mike married the love of his life, Karen (Nyffeler) Lemmon on August 8, 1997. She survives with their daughter, Katie Lemmon, his pride and joy, in Fort Wayne. Also surviving is a close sister-in-law, Linda Nyffeler, and four other sisters-in-law, all of Fort Wayne.
Also surviving are a sister, Jean (Allen, Sr.) Lauer, of Fort Wayne; brother, James R. Lemmon, of Fort Wayne; and a sister, Rhonda Berkemeier, of Missouri City, Texas.
Friends may rejoice in his life from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 19, and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at Emmanuel Community Church, 12222 West Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, also at the church, with Pastor Ron Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the family for Karen and Katie’s future or to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
