Meyer to Region 3 All-Star team

January 7, 2011

SAME TEAM NOW — Bellmont's Daniel Meyer (36) is about to hit Norwell's Jeff Shatto after the receiver caught a ball at Lucas Oil Field this past season. Both Meyer and Shatto are All-State players who were named to the Region 3 team, and that earns them a shot at the North All-Star roster. (Jim Hopkins Photo)

Bellmont fullback Daniel Meyer has been named to the Regional 3 All-Star team, it was announced today by the Indiana Football Coaches Association.
Those named to the Region 3 Team will be nominated for a spot on the North All-Star team for the annual game held in July in Indianapolis.
Bellmont has had three players involved in that contest over the past two seasons.
Meyer is Bellmont's all-time leading rusher with over 3,500 yards. He was named All-NHC first team and was named first team All-State 3A by the IFCA.
Jeff Shatto of Norwell was named to the squad as a tight end. Kyle Mathewson of Churubusco and Connor Kacsor of Leo were named halfbacks on the offensive team. East Noble quarterback A.J. Dove was named to the squad along with center Russ Tucker of New Haven, and linemen Andrew Tourney of Columbia City and Jacob Cordell of New Haven.
On defense, tackle Andrew Runkle and cornerback Kyle Jones of Southern Wells were put on the squad, as were defensive end Dru Durnell of Homestead and Carroll linebacker Connor Czuk. Kyle Monk of 'Busco and Kyle Marzec of Leo were named defensive backs, and Jack Lowe of New Haven was named at defensive tackle.
