Memorial set for city’s Viet victims

May 24, 2013

Just in time for Memorial Day came the announcement at this week's Decatur City Council meeting that the city will be getting a memorial to honor six city residents who were killed in the line of duty during the Vietnam War.
Mayor John Schultz said at the meeting that the memorial is being sponsored by the local VFW and American Legion posts, and that members of those organizations would like to place it somewhere near the gazebo along the walkway at Riverside Center.
