Memorial Day was a wet one in Adams County, but just cold and damp as Memorial Day services were held at the Veterans Memorial at the Berne American Legion post.
A joint observance was held by the Decatur American Legion Post 43 and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 6236, Berne American Legion Post 468 and Geneva VFW Post 6751.
Featured speaker was Guy Gruters, an F-100 fighter pilot, small business owner and corporate executive vice-president.
Decatur Mayor John Schultz and Berne Mayor Bill McKean were among those attending.
