McIntire stepping down at hospital

March 28, 2013

Several major changes in nursing personnel were announced Wednesday night at the monthly Board of Trustees meeting of the Adams Health Network (AHN).
Hospital Director of Nursing Jo McIntire told the board the meeting would be the last one she attended in an official capacity as she plans to retire effective April 12.
McIntire, who has 24 years of service at the hospital, started as a nursing director at the former Lakeside Manor Nursing Home in Decatur in 1988 and then four years later became manager of the hospital's surgery department. Sixteen years ago she became the interim director of nursing for the hospital, a title that soon lost the "interim" label, and she has served in the position ever since.
