Mary O. Razo

    Mary O. Razo, 83, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
    She was born on September 9, 1929, in Paulding, Ohio, to the late Floyd and Carmen (Morales) Ortiz.
     On October 17, 1947, she married Genaro Razo; he died on October 11, 1996.
    Mary was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Hispanic Society and the Rosary Society. She worked as a homemaker.
    Among survivors are five sons, Leonard (Rhonda) Razo of Decatur; Arthur (Carol) Razo of Cecil, Ohio; Charles Razo of Decatur; Edward (fiancée Nicole Turner) Razo of Decatur; and Michael Razo of Bluffton; four daughters, Fran (Dean) Miller of Fort Wayne; Rosemary (Joe) Silva of Decatur; Gloria (Fred) Ballentine of Butler; Ramona (Vernon) Patterson of Shreveport, La.; a brother, John (Mary) Ortiz of Hicksville, Ohio; five sisters, Margaret (Arthur) Nieto of Rockdale, Texas; Gloria (Chuck) Jasso of Antwerp, Ohio; Hope (Lamberto) Castillo of Hicksville, Ohio; Juanita (Manuel) Gonzalez of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and Carmen Lanum of Hicksville; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by three sons, Genaro Jr., James, and David Razo; two brothers, Paul and Gilbert Ortiz; five sisters, Christina Cortez, Josie Navarro, Rosie Fuentes, Dorothy Chew, and Arabella Sanchez.
    Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Parish Hall, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
    A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
    Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Hispanic Society.
