Mary Louise Ries

    Mary Louise "Mamie" Ries, 78, of Ohio City, Ohio, passed away at 7:41 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at St. Rita Medical Center in Lima.
    She was born in Ohio City on November 24, 1933, to the late Sherman "Buck" and Edna (Ayers) Fenton.
    On October 19, 1977, she married Stephen Wayne Ries; he passed away on December 5, 1979.
    A 1951 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School, Mamie was a member of the Ohio City Church of God. She was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross, donating blood and making blood runs. She had worked at Federal Mogul.
    Among survivors are her son, Randy L. Bedwell of Ohio City; two grandchildren, Samantha Bedwell and Bryce Bedwell; sisters-in-law, Naomi Boroff and Diane "Dee" Boroff; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa who died in infancy; three brothers, Edwin, William, and Donald Boroff; and one sister, Rhea Swander.
    Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, at Cowan & Sons Funeral Home, Van Wert, and one hour prior to services on Friday.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 9, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Bevington officiating.
    Burial will be in Woodlawn Cememtery, Ohio City.
    Preferred memorials are to the American Red Cross or Ohio City Church of God.
