Mary L. Alberding

    Mary L. Alberding, 90, of Decatur, died Friday, June 14, 2013, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
    Mary was born on November 14, 1922, in Decatur to the late Herman F. and Matilda A. (Heimann) Geimer.
    On August 5, 1947, she married Leo W. Alberding; he preceded her in death on October 20, 1992.
    Mary was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and also worked for North Adams Community School for 28 years in the cafeteria.
    Among survivors are three sons, Steve (Jeananne) Alberding, Bill (Jackie) Alberding, and Dennis (Amy) Alberding, all of Decatur; four daughters, Mary Ann (Tim) Lichtenberger, Margaret "Peg" (Jim) Aloisio, Barb (Bruce) Dicke, and Julie Alberding, all of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Sara Alberding of Decatur; four sisters, Eileen Gage of Lady Lake, Fla., Alice (Jack) Brunton of Decatur, Vera Laurent of New Haven, and Millie Leitz of Fort Wayne; 26 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.
    Mary was preceded in death by a son, Thomas; grandson, Nicholas; great-grandson, Robert; three brothers; and a sister.
    Visitation will be from noon-3 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3 p.m. Visitation will also be from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday at Woodcrest Porter Auditorium, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, June 17, at St. Mary’s Parish Hall.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father David Voors presiding.
    Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
    Preferred memorials are to St. Joseph Catholic School.
