Margaret R. Lengerich

    Margaret R. Lengerich, 92, of Decatur, passed away at 8:06 a.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at her residence.
    She was born on October 5, 1919, in Adams County, to the late Andrew and Margaret (Kortenber) Wolpert.
    She married Wilbur “Jeff” Lengerich on July 3, 1949; he passed away in 1969.
    She was a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. She was a member of the church’s Rosary Society and was also an active volunteer with the St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry.
    Margaret worked for CTS for 16 years and also for G.E. in Decatur. She also worked in the former Village Green Pharmacy deli.
    She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her faithful pets Whitie and Tiger.
    She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
    Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
    A 9:20 a.m. prayer service will be held on Wednesday, May 9, at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
    Officiating will Father David Voors. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
    Memorials may be made to Masses or to Family Life Care Hospice.
