Marcus D. Brodbeck

    Marcus D. Brodbeck, 83, Decatur, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at Ossian Health Care.
    Marcus was born on June 26, 1930, in Adams County, to the late Rufard and Evelyn (Burke) Brodbeck. He married his wife of 48 years Doris Koenig on March 20, 1965; and she survives.
    He was employed by Con Rail from 1950-1990, where he worked as a switchman, machinist and crane operator. He was a member of the Pennsylvania RAilroad Association, a former member of the Moose and a lifelong member of the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association. He was also co-owner of B & G Construction.
    He is survived by a son, Mark (Gretchen) Brodbeck, Decatur; and two grandchildren, Rheanna and Marcus Brodbeck.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence "Gene" and Morris "Wayne" Brodbeck.
    Visitation will be from 12-4 p.m. on Sunday and from 10-11 a.m. on Monday at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will follow on Monday, also at the funeral home.
    Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Bobo.
    Preferred memorials are to New Hope Hospice or ACCF Dementia/Alzheimer Angel Fund.
