    Marcel R. Welling, 89, of Bryant, died July 9, 2012, at his home.
    He was born January 16, 1923, in Bryant, to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Schaefer) Welling.
    On June 24, 1950, he married Mary Ellen (Lengerich) Welling; she survives.
    He was a retired dairy farmer and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph's Men's Sodality of the church, Knights of Columbus, Decatur, Bryant Senior Citizens, and Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bryant.
    Among survivors are daughters Marj (Larry) Sanders of Mentone, Ind.; Cathy (Mike) Bettinger of Coldwater, Ohio; Geri (Mark) Mestemaker of Coldwater; Judy (Roger) Wellman of Bryant; Joanne (Greg) Alig of St. Anthony, Ohio; Linda (Kevin) Wellman of Decatur; sons Bob (Rose) Welling of Bryant; Dave (Colleen) Welling of Bryant; Paul (Mary) Welling of St. Anthony; a sister Clara (Dick) Friedrich of Fort Wayne; 40 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.    He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Marie; sisters Sr. Alfrieda Welling, Mary Kemper, Adelaide Wilkinson; and brother, Hilbertå Welling.
     Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and 9-9:45 a.m. on Thursday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
    A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Bryant, with Fr. David Hoying officiating.
    Burial will be in Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bryant.
    Military graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion, Fort Recovery.
