Magdelene K. Peterson, 81, of Fort Wayne, died at 4:45 p.m. last Friday in Kingston Residence at Fort Wayne.
She was born on September 10, 1929 in Adams County to John and Lena Worthman Hilgeman.
She married Cal M. Peterson more than 62 years ago, on July 24, 1948 in Magley, and he survives.
She was a cafeteria worker in East Allen County Schools Corp. for 15 years and a member of New Haven United Methodist Church.
Other survivors are two sons: Cal Alan Peterson (and wife Renate) of Fort Wayne and Gary L. Peterson of Rome City, Indiana; one daughter, Mrs. Rick (Jo Ann) Dommer of New Haven; one sister, Eleanor Hartman of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Emma Snyder Spear, Lucille Hilgeman, and Margaret Beahrs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd. in Fort Wayne, with Chaplain Robin LaRue officiating.
Entombment will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday in McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne.
Preferred memorials are to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice or to Kingston Residence.
