Lynn D. Fuhrmann

    Lynn Dale Fuhrmann, 51, of rural Decatur, died at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday in Parkview Hospital at Fort Wayne as a result of congestive heart failure, which had affected him for many years.
    He was born on February 17, 1960, in Decatur to Paul and Adelinda M. Buuck Fuhrmann. His father passed away on March 22, 2010, and his mother passed away on October 1, 1979.
    He was a lifelong Adams County farmer and a former employee of North American Van Lines (SIRVA) as a truck mechanic.
    He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church (Friedheim) in rural Decatur, an active supporter of the Preble Fire Department for many years, and involved with tractor-pulling contests and demolition derbies for many years.
    Surviving are one son, James Fuhrmann (and wife Karrie) of Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. Mort (Delores) Maldeney of Monroeville; Mrs. John (Lois) Lane of Greer, South Carolina; and Mrs. Mike (Sharon) Christianer of Decatur; two brothers, Elden Fuhrmann (and wife Colleen) and Leonard Fuhrmann, both of Decatur; one sister-in-law, Colleen Fuhrmann of Decatur; and James Fuhrmann's mother, Kim Fuhrmann of New Haven.
    Three bothers preceded him in death: Dean, Ronald, and Larry Fuhrmann. A brother-in-law is also deceased, Tom Colchin.
    A prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Monday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church (Friedheim). Rev. Daniel Dahling will officiate.
    Burial will be in the cemetery at Zion Lutheran Church (Friedheim).
    Visiting hours in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. on Sunday and 9-10:15 a.m. on Monday.
    Preferred memorials, in lieu of flowers, are to Zion Lutheran Church (Friedheim) and to the Preble Fire Department.
