Lorna M. Bultemeier, 84, of Bossier City, Louisiana, died the morning of January 6 in Grace Hospice Home at Shreveport, Louisiana.
She was born on April 7, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Edward B. and Mildred Porath Blum.
She married Erwin C. Bultemeier; he passed away on May 2, 1969.
She retired in 1992 from the continuing education department at Lutheran Hospital at Fort Wayne and was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church at Bingen.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Diana) Fitzpatrick of Wiliamsburg, Ohio; Mrs. Steve (Tamera) Adams of Winnfield, Louisiana; Mrs. Jeffrey (Monica) Lacy of Bossier City; one son, Brent Bultemeier (and wife Marie) of Texarkana, Texas; three brothers, Bart Bluhm (and wife Jan) of Decatur; Donald Blum of Mattoon, Illinois; and Edward Blum (and wife Nancy) of Monte Rio, California; three sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Emily) Fogel of Columbus, Ohio; Theresa Hawkins of Martinsville, Indiana; and Carolyn Schwartz of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, William Bultemeier, who was killed on December 23, 2000, while serving his country with the Defense Intelligence Agency in Africa. One grandson, Chad Heckler, and two sisters, Virginia and Dona, are also deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John Lutheran Church at Bingen, with Revs. John Dreyer and Thomas Olson officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visiting hours are 5-8 p.m. Friday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to the scholarship fund at Wyneken Memorial Lutheran School at Bingen or to the memorial scholarship fund at Concordia High School in Fort Wayne.
