The Linkel Co. of Batesville, Indiana, has been awarded the contract to remove a huge logjam from under the Wendell Macklin Bridge in Decatur.
Linkel was the low bidder for the project as the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) this week received bids on logjam removals at eight different locations in northeast Indiana.
Linkel bid $94,754, while Yardberry Landscaping of Anderson bid $98,429 and Pioneer & Associates of Fort Wayne entered a bid of $176,610.
Engineer's estimate for the project was $97,840.
Decatur Mayor John Schultz said he has received no information on when the removal will start.
