Safety Park in Decatur recently received a grant from the Adams County Community Foundation, allowing for the purchase of over 500 certificates to present local students after they have passed the safety presentation offered through the park.
Janet Torson reported that Safety Park officials are grateful for the support from the foundation, for this as well as other grant opportunities.
Jeff Sheets, who is a grant writer, added that the grant process is easy and affords applicants the opportunity to make a request with very little effort.
Each year, several nonprofit organizations who serve Adams County residents are awarded grants. The due dates for the 2012 ACCF grant distributions are the second Thursdays during the months of  January, April, July, and October.
Special circumstances are required for the January and April grant distributions.
For additional information call the Adams County Community Foundation, (26) 724-3939, or email ACCFoundation@earthlink.net
