Local residents who took part in Thursday evening’s annual Walk for Warmth, sponsored by the Adams County Community and Family Services, did so in the rain and cold.
Millie Deaton, director of Adams County CFS agency, said even though it was a challenging evening, “many people have to fight weather like that all the time. People who do not have a car either walk or ride a bike to where they need to go.” Funds raised through pledges will go towards helping residents struggling to pay their utility bills this winter.
