June 12, 2012

Police are continuing their investigation today into a robbery that occurred at 8:15 p.m. Monday at the Decatur Walgreen's Pharmacy, 123 N. 13th Street.
Authorities said a white male entered the store and approached the pharmacy desk. He presented a handwritten note to the Walgreen's employee, demanding painkiller drugs. The suspect was given an unspecified amount of drugs and then left the building.

An inventory of medication given to the suspect or an estimate of its total value had not been established as of yet by police, according to a department report.
Decatur Walgreen's officials said this morning that, per store policy, they were not allowed to comment on the incident or about any store policy regarding individuals coming into the store seeking drugs or money. A call to the Walgreen's media division was not returned.
Police said no weapon was displayed in the robbery. but did not rule out the possibility the suspect was carrying one.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the police department,  724-3123, or Adams County Crimestoppers, 692-2882.
