Liquor at the library

Staff Writer

"Drinks with Dewey."
That's the jocular slogan of a wine and beer tasting party, also featuring a variety of hors d'oeuvres, that will be held by the Friends of the Library at the Adams Public Library System-Decatur branch from 5-7 p.m. Sept. 23. The library is at the corner of 3rd and Jefferson streets.
"Dewey" is a reference to the Dewey Decimal System, which is the numerical way by which books are catalogued in libraries.
The selection of wines and craft beer creations will be provided by the 2 Pour Guys business in Decatur, while the Friends of the Library will obtain the hors d'oeuvres.
There will also be piano music performed by Mary Witte of Decatur.
The cost will be $25 per person, with tickets available at the door and also in advance by contacting members of the Friends of the Library board of directors: Larry Macklin, Janet Macklin, Sharon Rich, Jim Compton, Cheri Scherry, Carol Pettibone, Curtis Rose, Claudia Gimbel and Eric Mann. Kelly Ehinger, director of APLS, also has tickets.
Money raised by this event is used to support numerous APLS projects.
