Linda K. Hirschy-Tyner

    Linda K. Hirschy-Tyner, 65, of Elwood, formerly of Decatur, went to be with the Lord at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at the home of her daughter.
    Linda was born in Decatur on July 26, 1947, to Kenneth and Esther (Baumgartner) Hirschy.
    She married Burel Tyner on November 25, 1992; he survives in Elwood.
    Linda was the co-owner of Myers Dance Studio in Decatur, and was the first woman elected to the Adams County Council. She was also a former Adams County Treasurer. Linda worked as the District Manager for the BMV and Business Administrator for Miami Correctional Facility in Peru. She was a past member of the Tri-Kappa Sorority of Decatur, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Elwood.
    Among survivors are her twin daughters, Darlene (Roy) Zeitvogel of Decatur and Charlene Johnson of Fort Wayne; bonus children, Sam (Caterina) Tyner of Elwood, Brett (Jacquie) Tyner of Anderson, and Christi Tyner of Elwood; two brothers, Ed (Kerry) Hirschy and Gil (Susan) Hirschy, both of Fort Wayne; a sister, Dorence (Gary) Wilson of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; bonus child Anna Tyner, and grandson, Shane Tyner.
    Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 4 p.m., at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
    Visitation will also be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elwood. Father Dan Duff will be officiating.
    Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Elwood.
    Preferred memorials are to Masses to St. Joseph Church, East Main Street Wesleyan AWANA's, or Adams County Community Foundation Hirschy-Tyner Fund in Decatur.
