Limberlost to build SA pavilion; cost is higher than anticipated

July 11, 2013

South Adams maintenance director Dave Vorhees gave the school board on Tuesday an update on the work being done at the school.
Vorhees reported that the football concessions stands and restrooms have been pressure-washed and repainted. He also said that the pool has been drained in preparation for a light acid bath and regrouting. It should be ready for use in September.
Additionally, Vorhees said that he had contacted four local contractors about building the cross country team's pavilion. Two were too busy, but Limberlost Construction bid $21,850, plus $4,500 for alternate brick, and Marquis Builders quoted $21,896, plus $5,536 for alternate brick. Vorhees recommended that the board award the bid to Limberlost Construction, and the board agreed.
