Lillian Marie Brown, 91, of rural Decatur, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012, at River Terrace Estates, in Bluffton. Marie was born on July 11, 1921, in Wells County, to the late Charles E. and Lilly Mae (Diehl) Johnloz.
On May 17, 1941 she married Oscar T. Brown; he died in April of 1986.
Marie was a member of St. Luke Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and in the Helping Hands Women’s Group. She was also a member of the Kirkland Ladies Club for 56 years and the Country Friends. She worked as a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Rene L. (Linda) Brown and Blair A. (Deborah) Brown, both of Decatur; three grandchildren, Kent A. (Kristie) Brown, Michael R. (Angela) Brown, and Angela L. (Mark) McKean, all of Decatur; and seven great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, July 16, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, at St. Luke Church, with calling from 9:30-10 a.m. Pastor Mike Wertenberger will be officiating.
Burial will take place in St. Luke Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to St. Luke Helping Hands or to St. Luke Cemetery Fund.
