Lila Mae Hersberger, 83, of Ridgeville, passed away at 11:04 a.m. on Sunday, May 8, while in the company of family members at her residence.
Lila was born in Bisbee, Arizona, on September 17, 1927, a daughter of Myrtle Frazier Hodges and Wendell T. Hodges.
She was a member of Bearcreek Friends Church at Ridgeville.
She was employed as a laborer at the former CTS Corp. plant in Berne for 10 years, from which she retired. She formerly worked at the Anchor Hocking Glass plant in Winchester.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star's Union City Chapter 444 and was an artist working in cut stained glass
She was the widow of Harold Hersberger. She and Harold were married on October 13, 1945, after Harold's discharge from the U.S. Navy. They moved to Indiana, where daughter Lorna Jean and son Dave Alan were born.
Lila is survived by a daughter, Lorna Jean Shoaf, of Decatur; a son, Dave Alan Hersberger (wife Nancy) of Deerfield, Indiana; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; a brother, Wendell Thomas Hodges; and a sister, Lorrain Thompson.
Friends may call at M.J.S. Mortuaries in Ridgeville today from 4-8 p.m., with Eastern Star services at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be at Bear Creek Friends Church in Ridgeville, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, with Rev. Vernon Huffman officiating.
Graveside services will be in New Dayton/Bear Creek Cemetery at Ridgeville.
