The Farm Bureau Lifers clipped Peterson Grain 4-3 in a battle of once-beatens in the Monroe Little League Tuesday night.
The win puts the Lifers on top in the league at 8-1 to the 7-2 mark of Peterson Grain.
Dylan Miller doubled with two hits and Kyle Arnold tossed the victory, striking out 8 with 2 walks and 5 hits allowed. Reliever Anthony Mosser earned the save, yielding a run on 2 hits with 2 strikeouts and a walk. Andy parrish fanned 4 and walked 2, yielding 3 runs on 6 hits in the loss. Andrew Hammond fanned 5 and walked 2, yielding an unearned run on one hit in two innings of relief for Grain.
Jalen Hammond doubled with 2 hits for Grain while Andrew Hammond doubled. Austin Butler slammed three hits.
In the other game Tuesday, the Brickhouse clipped Bank of Geneva 9-7.
Trey Kongar tripled and Nick Liter doubled for Brickhouse, now 3-4 on the season. Nick Liter doubled while Tyson Bahrke stroked three hits. Nash Brunner and Kade Moser both had 2 safeties.
Hunter Lotter tripled and doubled with three hits for Bank while Joel Harvey did the same. Drexel Canales doubled. T.J. Elzey had two hits.
Bahrke fanned 6 and walked 2, allowing 4 hits in the win. Moser earned the save with 5 strikeouts and no walks with 2 runs allowed.
Canales took the loss, striking out 6 with 3 walks and 10 hits allowed. Lotter fanned two and walked none in an inning of relief.
