Life sentence for Ohio City woman for killing mother

    An Ohio City woman was sentenced Friday in Van Wert Common Pleas Court to 15 years to life for the shooting death of her mother in November of last year.
    On the murder charge, Tamara Menke, 48, also received a mandatory one year
prison term for using a firearm in the commission of the crime, consecutive to the
sentence in the murder charge.
    On a second charge of felonious assault, a second degree  felony, Menke was sentenced to three years prison plus another mandatory one year in prison for using a firearm in the commission of this crime, consecutive to the sentence in the felonious assault charge. The court then ordered that the felonious assault sentence be served consecutive to the sentence in the murder charge.
