TERRE HAUTE—South Adams junior Evan Liechty participated for the Starfires as an individual runner in the IHSAA boys state finals in cross country Saturday and finished 69th overall out of a field of 196 harriers.
Liechty posted a time of 16:34.3.
Indianapolis North Central’s Futsum Zeinasellassie defended his individual cross country state title and was the only racer to break the 15-minute barrier. Zeinasellassie cruised to victory with a winning time of 14:48.8, or 44 seconds better than second place Mitchell Hubner of LaPorte.
