LeRoy J. Lehman

    LeRoy J. Lehman, 87, of Berne, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012, at Swiss Village.
    He was born to the late Levi and Emma (Liechty) Lehman on September 13, 1925.
    LeRoy married Ellen Fisher on February 24, 1946; she preceded him in death.
    He was a member of the First Mennonite Church, where he was an usher for many years. He was a volunteer with the annual meat canner project, and was a lifetime dairy and grain farmer. He enjoyed watching sports, gardening, visiting with friends, mushroom hunting, and reminiscing with friends in Swiss.
    Among survivors are his sons, Steven (Nicki) Lehman of Berne, Don (Jerri) Lehman of Craigville, Terry (Susan) Lehman of Berne, and Michael (Wendy) Lehman of Berne; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchldren.
    Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, at First Mennonite Church, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Jerry A. Flueckiger.
    Burial will be in MRE Cemetery, Berne.
    Preferred memorials are to the First Mennonite Church Broadcast Ministry and/or the Mennonite Meat Canner Project.
