Lehnford L. Bohnke

    Lehnford L. “Bud” Bohnke, 78, Decatur, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
    He was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Decatur, to the late Herman and Louise (Bienz) Bohnke.
    Bud was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church-Fuelling and a member of the D.H.I.A. Dairy Association. He sold and produced milk for Allen Dairy, which became Prairie Farms Dairy, for more 50 years.
    He is survived by his children, Kaylehn (Larry) Brunner, Rita (Jim) Hill and Mark (Alysse) Bohnke, all of Decatur, Arnita (Brian) Heyerly of Monroe and Eric (Melissa) Bohnke of Walkerton; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
    Bud was preceded in death by a son, Willmott; and a brother, Willmott.
    Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Haggard-Sefton and Hirschy Funeral Home with Rev. Martin K. Moehring officiating.
    Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery.
    Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
    Preferred memorials are to St. Peter Immanuel Lutheran School.
