Lee Gerber

    Lee Gerber, 72, of rural Decatur, died at 8:32 p.m. Sunday at his residence.
    He was born in Adams County on October 19, 1939, to Obed and Leona (Bahler) Gerber, who are deceased.
    On April 13, 1963, he married Jennie Schultz in San Antonio, Texas; she survives.
    A 1957 graduate of Adams Central High School, he served in the US Army from 1962-64, with the 2nd division of the 35th Artillery Unit in Hamberg, Germany.
    He was owner/operator of Lamar Industries and worked at Adams Central Schools from 1992 to 1996.
    Lee was a member of Apostolic Christian Church East.
    Family was a very important part of his life.
    Also surviving are three sons, Doug L. (Kristi) Gerber, Eric (Lori) Gerber and Chris (Laura) Gerber, all of Bluffton; two daughters, LeAnn Gerber and Renee Gerber, both of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren, Darien Lee Gerber, Reagan Gerber; Dalton Lee Gerber, Stockton Lee Gerber, Saela Gerber, Eden Lee Gerber and Addison Gerber; and a sister, Rosetta (Gary) Ringger of Decatur.
    One daughter, Sue Ellen Gerber, died January 31, 1999, and one grandchild, Phoenix Lee Gerber, is deceased. Also deceased are a brother, Dean Gerber, and a sister, Delilah Gerber.
    Funeral services will be held at the church at 10:30 a.m. Friday, pastors John Reinhard and Ed Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
    Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 1-8 p.m. Thursday at Goodwin Memorial Chapel, and one hour prior to services at the church.
    Miligtary rites will be conducted by the Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post 1111.
