Leah D. Dalton

    Leah D. Dalton, 91, Bluffton, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
    She was a resident of Bluffton since October of 2010. Leah was born March 30, 1923, in Springfield, Mass., to Kenneth and Marion (Reed) Chapman. She lived most of her life in the Boston area. She worked for many years in the Wellesley (Mass.) School District and previously was a switch board operator at New England Telephone Company.
  She obtained her life saving badge and loved the beach and spending time on Cape Cod.
  Leah is survived by a daughter, Sharen (Mark) Davis of Chino Hills, Calif.; a son, William “Billy” Dalton of rural Bluffton; a grandson, Joshua Davis of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; and a sister, Jean (Joseph) Merton of East Long Meadow, Mass.
    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Chapman and George Chapman; and a daughter, Pamela Dalton.
  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home, with Pastor Craig Cortright officiating.
  Calling will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
