Lavera A. Fickert

    Lavera A. Fickert, 92, of Decatur, died on Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
    She was born on February 14, 1918, in Berne to Andrew and Clista (Reusser) Habegger.
    Lavera married Homer “Buck” Fickert on June 7, 1952.
    Lavera was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Decatur and its Women’s Guild and Friendship Circle.
    She was a homemaker and a licensed practical nurse for 32 years at Adams County Memorial Hospital.
    Survivors include a brother, Grant A. (Bonnie) Habegger of Berne; a niece, Toni Donahy of Tucson, Arizona; four nephews, Rick Habegger of Bluffton; Eric Schrock of Edmond, Oklahoma; Randy Schrock of Overland Park, Kansas; and Jeff Schrock of Brush Prairie, Washington.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Larene Schrock; and a niece, Bonita Schrock.
    Calling is 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, and one hour prior to the funeral services.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 4, 2011, at the funeral home, with Rev. Randy Rossman officiating.
    Burial will be in M.R.E. cemetery, rural Berne.
    Memorials are to Zion United Church of Christ.
