Larry R. Ternet

    Larry R. Ternet, 73, Monroeville, passed away at 12:51 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at his residence.
    He was born Tuesday, March 12, 1940, in Monroeville, to the late Robert W. and LaVerne M. (Reuille) Ternet. He married Jean D. Wass Jan. 12, 1963, in St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville; she survives.
    Larry served his country in the United States Air Guard in France during the Berlin Crisis.
    He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church Besancon, New Haven, Fort Wayne Corvette Club, Tractor Pullers Association and Cockshutt Club.
    Larry was a graduate of Monroeville High School Class of 1958. He enjoyed Corvettes, restoring antique tractors, pulling tractors and collecting toy tractors.
    He retired in 1995 from Navistar after 25.5 years of service. He previously worked for Paul Wilson Farms for 20 years and was a lifetime farmer.
    Surviving are two daughters, Jeanette M. (Mark) Figert of Oakwood, Ohio and Janeece M. (Paul Swander) Friesner of Van Wert, Ohio; three sons, Randall E. Ternet of Louisville, Ky., Robert E. (Kim) Ternet of New Haven and Richard E. Ternet of Orange County, Calif.; and seven grandchildren, Justin and Melissa Figert; Landon, Jeremy and Garret Ternet; and Ashlynn and Ezra Friesner.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Haven with Father Stephen Colchin officiating. Internment will follow in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Besancon.
    Friends will be received from 3-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, and one hour prior to Mass at the church Friday.
    A Rosary Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
    Preferred memorials are to St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church Restoration Project or Monroeville EMS.
