Larry Hamilton

    Larry Le Roy Hamilton, 70, Houghton Lake Heights, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014, at home with his loving family by his side.
    He was born Feb. 23, 1944, in Bluffton, to Donna (Bell) Hamilton and the late Cletus Hamilton.
    Larry married his wife of 47 years, Patricia Ann Schurr, March 11, 1967, in Bluffton; she survives.
    Larry graduated from Decatur High School and later attended technical training school. He worked as a service technician for Sears for 36 years. He started working in Decatur, was transfered to Portland and the couple moved to Houghton Lake in 1975, when Larry took a transfer to northern Michigan to cover the area as a service technician.
    Larry was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall of Prudenville. He enjoyed building, fixing and repairing things around the house.
    Surviving Larry are a son, Peter Hamilton of Houghton Lake Heights; a daughter, Penny Crystal of Sterling Heights; a granddaughter, Jelissa; a brother, Michael (Joyce) Hamilton of Decatur; and a sister, Joanne (Jerry) Manter of Decatur. Larry was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Goss.
    Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall of Prudenville, 450 N. Roscommon Road, Prudenville.
    Internment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake.
    Memorial Contributions in memory of Larry may be directed to Hospice Advantage.
    Funeral arrangements were handled by Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel.
