The Jets, now 8-1 on the season, scored in every at bat starting off with four in the first and three more in the second. They added a single tally in the third and got two in the fourth and fifth to win by the 10-run mercy rule.
The team muddled through rain drops throughout the game but AC coach Cary Blake still praised the effort of Jet hurler Bess Fiechter who picked up her second win of the season on the mound. "Bess got better as the game went on. It wasn't the best weather to pitch in," he added.
Adams Central punched out four doubles in the game with Fiechter, Sammie Baker, Olivia Macklin, and Alexa Baller all connecting for two-baggers. The top four hitters in the AC line-up contributed seven hits (two doubles), nine runs, and five RBIs. Fiechter went two-for-two with a pair of runs, Jenae Blackburn singled in a run and scored twice, Alyssa Keller tallied three runs with two hits and a pair of stolen bases, and Baker drove in three RBIs with two hits and two runs.
Macklin and Baller also had two hits each for the Jets with Macklin getting two RBIs and Baller scoring a pair of runs.
Fiechter issued four walks and fanned a pair in getting the five-inning victory. Fremont had just four hits off of Fiechter including a pair of singles by Hatch.
Weather permitting, Adams Central is slated to try and move its ACAC seasonal record to 4-0 tonight as they travel to Bluffton.
