L. Pearl Yoder

    L. Pearl Yoder, 95, Berne, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Swiss Village.
    She was born Oct. 28, 1918, the daughter of Ray and Marie (Ritenour) Butcher. She married the late Marion Yoder April 1, 1939.
    Pearl was a member of Cross Community Church. She worked for Naas Food Co., Geneva, as a lab technician for 30 years. She also was a waitress for the Coffee Shop and a clerk in the Swiss City Hardware. Pearl was an active member of the Berne Garden Club for many years.
    Special interests included reading, traveling, ceramics, needlepoint, sewing and gardening.
    Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Jay) Stauffer of New Bremen, Ohio and Sharon (Max) Church Hurley of Sugar Valley, Ga.; two sons, Duane ( Jessica) Yoder of Decatur and Dean (Maria) Yoder of Geneva; a sister, Helen Augsburger of Berne; 10 grandchildren, Ron (Joni) Stauffer, Rob (Denise) Stauffer, Jeffery May, Yvette Weiland, Natalie (David) Spitler, Dean (Laura) Yoder, Lee (Rina) Yoder, Joshua Yoder, Elijah Yoder and Matthew Yoder; and eight great-grandchildren.
    She is preceded in death by two grandsons.
    Funeral services are Wednesday at Cross Community Church in Berne with Pastor Chris Kruchkow officiating. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
    Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.
    Preferred memorials are to Cross Community Church, Family Life Care and/or Swiss Village Samaritan Fund.
